I keep noticing a few things that don’t make sense, but if the game we got in North America was different in other-ways besides just a translation difference these things would make sense.
For starters, just saw the Anime, and frankly I think that was suppose to be the main story line for a Yon assassin, which isn’t a possible class race combo with Blade And Soul Gold. And the names are out of sink, and the order in which she hits the zones and what happens. Basically she does what we do, sort of, in a very different order, and some major conceptual differences.
So I got to thinking, what if the game we got is not the original concept. To me it seems like the game has 4 different start zones, and many of the main quests make no sense what so ever.
All of these issue would make sense if the game was intended to have 4 start zones, with two different story paths, based on dialog choices on the main quest. It seems like the NA version of the game is glued together in a haphazard way.
If you mean whether the story wasn’t meant to be the way it is… Well you’re right.
Originally the story wasn’t meant to be a linear story to begin with, it was a choice between a Good or Evil path. You could choose to continue the path of Hongmoon and reject Mushin’s assistance or you could choose to go with BNS Gold. The problem with the choice however was that choosing Evil (going with Mushin) meant Team Bloodlust would have to make an entirely different scenario for Evil players to progress as the Path of Light was pretty much a finished story back then.
The story itself was changed in order to fit Mushin’s dark path into the storyline. This changed the story’s original concept of choice. If I recall correctly, the reason you have things such as the Blackram Uniform, Talus Uniform and so on was that it was a choice to support the evil causes in order for the character to pursue revenge but it was scrapped so now those outfits are nothing more than fancy PvP outfits that serve no other purpose.
Mass Effect (whole series) rates an 8, for me. WOW was a 6, but in the last few years has dropped to a 4. BnS has clear 8 moments, but over all it’s a 2 at best. Mainly because I can feel the gaps in the story narrative, where they intended to give you agency with Blade And Soul Power leveling, I feel less important to the the progression of the story the way they have the story flow R4PG BNS Gold. Frankly, the sinker is not allowing the players to respond correctly to certain characters, and not giving us a good reason to play nice. Yonkai would be dead the second I saw him if I was writing this story. Yet we work for him all over the place, and then the main bad gets to kill that weasel. So yah, I have been wondering if the translation was right from the get go, then I see the Anime, and realized it’s not a prequel, it’s supposed to be the personalized story of a player character. Only nothing is right besides the looks, clothing, setting, moves, and everything besides names and story. This caused me to realize, Hey if the Anime is so far removed from what I’m playing, how far removed is this game from what was released in Korea, and what was the original Script for the game.
